The governorship candidate of the Accord Party, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has promised to revive abandoned companies in Rivers State if he emerges as governor of the state.
He spoke during his visit to the paramount ruler of the Rumurolu Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Eze Dr G.N. Chukwumgba, as part of his road campaign rally at the weekend.
The Accord governorship candidate specifically mentioned the abandoned syringe manufacturing company and a few others at the Trans-Amadi industrial layout as some of the companies he would resuscitate.
He bemoaned the malfunctioning of the industrial estate in Trans Amadi that is supposed to provide employment for Rivers youths.
“The 1000 hectares of Trans Amadi Industrial Estate is not functioning. We have the syringe factory that has been abandoned in Obio/Akpor, which will also be resuscitated. There is also a medical project. All of that will be resuscitated,” Dumo said.
Responding, the Rumurolu paramount ruler, Eze G.N. Chukwumgba, charged politicians to shun politics of bitterness and create room for all candidates to campaign and express themselves.
According to him, such equal opportunities will not jeopardize the chances of any candidate destined to win.
“Don’t play politics with bitterness. If God says that you will become a governor, you will be. You don’t need to conduct oracle before you will know,” Eze Chukwumgba said.
