Former Niger Delta agitator, Asari Dokubo has claimed that the Amanyanabo of Abonnema, King Disreal Gbogbo BobManuel is not a Kalabari man.
Dokubo said that the King BobManuel is from Abua and has no powers to confer honorary chieftaincy title on Governor Nyesom Wike.
Recall that Wike was on the 5th of February conferred with the honorary title of Se Ibidokibo 1 of Kalabari.
Some Kalabari natives had denounced the honorary title, saying that it has no place in Kalabari culture.
Speaking in a live Facebook broadcast, Dokubo said that it was an affront on Da Amakri royal family for King BobManuel to confer honorary chieftaincy title on Wike.
He alleged that there is a court suit contesting the true origin of the king whom he said has refused to be a true Kalabari man.
Dokubo also warned that there will be dire consequences if the Amanyanabo tampers with the powers of the Da Amakri Royal House again.
He also described the Amanyanabo as an ‘unworthy fellow’ who was too poor to be made a Kalabari chief.
On the 2023 gubernatorial election, Dokubo disagreed with those who are anti-zoning, saying that in every pluralistic society, rotation of political powers gives every unit a sense of belonging.
He added that he will support every Kalabari man who emerges gubernatorial candidate in 2023.
