The Association of Local Governments in Nigeria, ALGON, Rivers State Chapter on Sunday announced the contribution of the sum of Twelve Million Naira as the association’s support for the education of the daughters of the Ekelegbe Fyneface Cohen Chikobi (EFCC); Godiva and Nina Chikobi.
EFCC Chiko was killed by gunmen along the Emohua axis of the East-West Road on December 31 2019 while travelling home after the gubernatorial campaign of Governor Nyesom Wike.
The Mayor of Port Harcourt and chairman of ALGON in the state, Victor Ihunwo, who spoke at the Service of Songs in honour of the Late leader of the Ahoada West Legislative Assembly and the unveiling of Educational Trust Fund for his daughters at the Obiwali International Cultural Centre Port Harcourt, described him as one of the founding fathers of the New Rivers Vision Social Media group.
He also urged the youths to emulate his selfless services to humanity which stood him out amongst his peers.
He prayed for the repose of his soul and asked God to heal all grieving hearts.
The service of songs attracted top stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, friends and family of the deceased lawmaker.
The chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, Bro Felix Obuah made an additional donation of 9 million for the family.
The remains of the Late EFCC will be laid to rest on the 14th of August, 2019.
