The well-known socialist, Pascal Okechukwu, also known as the Cubana Chief Priest, revealed his reasons for relocating his business from the Southeast to Lagos State.

During an interview session with British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Igbo shared on X by a user, he disclosed that his relocation was a result of security challenges faced in the southeastern part of Nigeria.

The Cubana Chief Priest commented on the alleged recent hike in insecurity experienced in the eastern part of Nigeria such as kidnapping and killing, which has made customers who usually visit home move away from the east.

“There is widespread hunger in the south-east. It is our own community members who provide criminals with information.”

“Our people began targeting the wealthy, so the wealthy stopped returning home during festivities. That’s why I moved to Lagos to conduct my business,” he narrated, as transcribed from the Igbo language.
