Governor Siminalayi Fubara told some groups of hardship protesters on Thursday that he feels their pain as plans will be made to meet with the Federal Government.

In a video circulated online, Governor Fubara was seen addressing the protesters demanding for good governance at the gate government house in Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, today marked the beginning of the 10-day #EndBadGovernace# protest said to be carried out across the country, Nigeria.

In his speech, he appreciated the protesters for the peaceful atmosphere created during the protest, as he explained his fears of being hijacked by some hoodlums.

“I am thanking you because you are peaceful and here to demand a better Nigeria. Like I said yesterday, I am one of you. I feel your pain, and in our own government here, we are doing everything to make life easy for our people.”

“But you see, in this particular protest you are doing now, our only worry is that we know that a lot of people are planning to take advantage of this protest to destroy our state, but we will not allow it.”

“I know your problem; we will communicate your problem to the federal government. Like I said, it is not easy, but we know that everything will be well, starting in our own state. Everything will be well,” Gov. Fubara said.

He urged the protesters to support and trust the government policy, as they are working hard to build a favourable system for all Nigerians. He highlighted that the country will experience challenges at the beginning, but victory will be attained at the end.

“What we just need is to support the government and the policy. In the beginning of the policy, it might be harsh, but at the end, everything will be fine. We are going to make sure everything will be fine,” the Rivers State Governor said.
