The people of Akinima and Isua Joinkrama communities in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State are now living in fear following the killing of Kaka Mosaic by angry youths.

Mosaic who died a day after he was macheted, was alleged to have stolen armoured cable in Akinima, the headquarters of the LGA.

Speaking with our correspondent, a social activist from the LGA, Santos Owolo narrated that, “the deceased was apprehended by some angry youths of Akinima Community who inflicted various degrees of machete cuts on him before letting him go.

“The deceased got to his community and told his people that he was attacked by some bad boys in Akinima Community.

“The next day, the boy died from excess bleeding and the people of his community are not happy.

“The people of Isua Joinkrama are asking; why was the deceased not handed over to the police if his accusers believe that he stole their community armoured cable?

“Why will they inflict machete wounds on parts of his body that will easily kill him before letting him go?”

The family of the deceased has vowed to avenge the barbaric killing of Mosaic by any means justifiable under the law.

But the youths of the deceased community are insisting that they will retaliate same way Mosaic was hacked to death.

Another source from the deceased community who did not want his name in print told our correspondent that Mosaic is a well known cult boy.

“The deceased is a well known cult boy that was unfortunate to have been apprehended by some cult boys who don’t like him.

“So, they used the opportunity to machete him in a way that he either dies or remains unable to use parts of his body for life.

“Right now, the youths of my community that want to launch reprisal attacks are those of his cult group, “the source said.

Our correspondent reports that the remains of the slain Mosaic had been deposited at the Ahoada mortuary.
