Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has praised President Bola Tinubu as a leader who prioritizes the welfare of young people. Speaking at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) executive engagement with Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders and selected stakeholders in Port Harcourt themed, “Let Us Build Together” in Rivers State, Otuaro urged the people of Niger Delta to embrace the Tinubu administration due to his favorable disposition towards the region and his youth friendliness.

Otuaro attributed his appointment as Presidential Amnesty Programme Administrator and Samuel Ogbuku’s appointment as NDDC Managing Director to the President’s commitment to the region’s development. He encouraged patience with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s economy and accelerating development in the Niger Delta.

The PAP Administrator also cautioned youths against participating in the proposed nationwide protest on August 1, emphasizing the need for sustained peace and security in the region. He highlighted the President’s support for the PAP, which has designed a scheme to empower over 1,000 youths and increase the scholarship proceeds to accommodate 500 Niger Delta students to study in universities.

Otuaro commended the NDDC for organizing the meeting and pledged PAP’s readiness to collaborate with the agency. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and women’s inclusion, announcing plans for a women’s summit to interface with the region’s female folk on regional issues.

“For our women, they are our priority. We have had stakeholder meetings with ex-agitators, and we are also going to hold another meeting involving only women. In that meeting, our women will share their issues. I will not impose anything on our women. The meeting will cover the Niger Delta. We will partner with the NDDC, we have the required manpower.” said Dennis.

Dignitaries present at the event included but not limited to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and Niger Delta leaders. Otuaro pointed out that their presence underscored the President’s dedication to the region’s growth and development, urging the people to support his initiatives.
