Tyson Fury on Sunday appeared to pre-empt that talk with eagle-eyed viewers spotting a reference to AJ’s Nigerian heritage.
Fury wore a green and white mouth guard with ‘Nigeria’ written on it during his win over Wilder.
Joshua, who is presently in Nigeria was seen recently registering for a national ID card in the nation’s capital Abuja.AJ’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has already made it clear they want a unification fight this summer, while Fury’s camp would also prefer a unification bout next.
Wilder holds the key to any heavyweight Battle of Britain, with the American having a rematch clause which he can trigger at any time in the next 30 days.
Given the comprehensive nature of Fury’s victory, though, he may opt against a trilogy fight.
Fury is clearly keen to take on Joshua and unify the division, saying after his win over Wilder: ‘I’ve got another old fella across the pond who might want a little tickle.
‘Then that is it then. It’s completed. Done.’
