While joining Christians across the country to mourn and condemn the barbaric beheading of the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Rev Lawan Andimi by Boko Haram terrorists, Christmas in Rivers State have accused the security chiefs of being inactive.
Following the nationwide directive by the Christian Association of Nigeria, its Rivers State Chapter on Wednesday commenced 3-day fasting and prayer to commiserate the gruesome killing of Rev Andimi.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Chairman of CAN, Rivers State Chapter, Apostle (Dr), Stanley Dimkpa who called on the security chiefs to either be replaced or sacked said: “It is quite unfortunate that we find ourselves in this situation at this modern age.
“The news of the gruesome murder and beheading of the CAN Chairman in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Rev Lawan Andimi greeted us with great shock.
“It is very sad and painful and had thrown the church into mourning.

“Since we got this news, only the Word of God we have been using to console ourselves and we equally commiserate with the family of the slain Rev Andimi and his primary church.
“Nothing can separate us from the love of God, not even the Boko Haram, political instability or the lukewarm attitude of the security chiefs and the federal government on security matters.
“It was sad to note that we didn’t get enough collaboration from the nation’s security chiefs or the federal government since the day of his adoption which was around the first week of this month.
“The terrorists demanded 2 million Euro which is closed to a billion naira as a ransom for his release.
“The church pleaded and bargained for 50 million naira which we offered for his release.
“Still, the terrorists went ahead and beheaded the CAN Chairman, Rev Andimi.
“One would begin to wonder what is the contribution of the security agencies or the federal government.
“We will only rely on the Almighty God and we pray for Him to intervene and permanently end the killings of Christians by the evil ones especially in the North-east.”
