Jubilation continues months after killing of notorious gang leader, Kumasi in Ahoada

Checks by our correspondent indicate that jubilation is still on following the death of a killer gang leader, David Joseph popularly known as General Kumasi in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Before his death, Kumasi was declared wanted with a bounty placed on him by the Rivers State Government.

Kumasi who hailed from Okogbe community in Ahoada West was accused of being responsible for most deadly criminal activities ranging from killings, robberies to kidnappings in both Ahoada East and West axis of the state.

Confirming the continued jubilation to our correspondent, a paramount ruler in Ahoada West, His Royal Highness, Ekiavie Amedi said the killing of Kumasi brought succour to the people of Ahoada.

“Since Kumasi was killed a month ago, my people are still happy till date.

“The man (Kumasi) brought a lot of pain and atrocity to Ahoada and the kind of terrific fear we used to have during his reign has reduced, “he said.

It was learnt that Kumasi was sent to his early grave following a shoot out he and his gang encountered with soldiers in a bush in Ahoada West.
