The Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Victor Oko-Jumbo, has extended invitations to eight commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation to join the state executive council.

The nominees include

  • Hon.Prince Charles O. Bekee,
  • Mr. Collins N. Onunwo,
  • Hon. Solomon Eke,
  • Sir Dr. Peter N. Medee,
  • Hon. Elloka Tasie Amadi,
  • Hon. Basoene Joshua Benibo,
  • Mr. Tambari Sydney Gbara,
  • Dr. Ovy Orluideye Chinendum Chukwuma.

These individuals are scheduled to appear before the Assembly at the Rivers State Government House Auditorium, located in the Administrative Block, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday at 10:00 am.

This development follows the recent resignations of several commissioners: Prof. Chinedu Mmom (Education), Dr. Gift Worlu (Housing), Austen Ben-Chioma (Environment), Inime Aguma (Social Welfare), and Jacobson Nbina (Transport). The nominees, upon successful screening and confirmation, are anticipated to fill the vacancies left by these departures.

According to a statement from the Clerk of the House, G.M. Gillis-West, the nominees are required to bring twelve copies of their Curriculum Vitae, along with the original and photocopied versions of their credentials.
