N’ Delta youths take counter protest to presidential election tribunal

By Brave Dickson

Some youths from the Niger Delta extraction under the aegis of the Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front on Monday took their counter-protest to the venue of the presidential election tribunal in solidarity with President Bola Tinubu.

The youths said their action became necessary following a series of anti-Tinubu protests, staged at the venue of the tribunal.

The coordinator of the group, Boma Daniels said: “We are at the Federal Capital Territory. We have been here before the present Tinubu-led administration was inaugurated.

“We came here in respect of the presidential election petition tribunal that is going on.

“We noticed that there are certain persons that are trying to build on religion, ethnic, and party sentiments to disrupt the presidential election case.

“And we noticed that if we allow such to continue, it will mislead people into distracting this new administration.

“If they are crying foul and they are not satisfied, the Nigerian constitution has provided peaceful means of redress which is the court.

“But we noticed that disgruntled elements are freely coming to the presidential election tribunal to harass law-abiding citizens.

“We stand by the judiciary and we support the smooth running of the tribunal.

“We, the patriotic citizens of Nigeria from the Niger Delta, we believe in the mandate of Bola Tinubu and we will not allow any person or group to intimidate the tribunal.”
