Court sacks Rivers APC chairman, legal adviser

A Rivers State High Court on Thursday sacked the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Emeka Beke and the Legal Adviser, Ifeanyichukwu Azubuike.

Their sack followed an exparte order granted by Justice D.G.Kio in an application filed by seven members of the State Working Committee.

The State Working Committee members in a sworn affidavit said they have passed a vote of no confidence in the Chairman and the Legal Adviser and prayed the court to bar them from parading themselves as Chairman and Legal Adviser of Rivers APC respectively.

The seven members also sought an order from the Court restraining the chairman and the legal adviser from interfering in the activities of the executive committee of Rivers APC, pending the determination of the substantive case.

Justice Kio granted their prayers and adjourned the case to April 19, 2023, for a hearing of the motion on notice.
