Immigration boss tasks newly decorated officers to promote core mandate

The Comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Service Rivers State Command, AJ Kwasua, has charged officers to promote excellence in the discharge of their duties.

Kwasua, who gave the charge while decorating newly promoted officers of the Command, said the core mandate of Immigration which is border control management calls for serious effort in order to secure Nigerian borders for national peace and development.

He, however, urged the newly decorated officers to be diligent and dedicated to their duties in order to ensure the safety and protection of the nation’s borderlines, as to whom much is given much is expected.

“I want to congratulate you all on your success many sat for the exams and couldn’t make it. The promotion is to motivate your performance into adding value to your service, we expect those promoted to live up to expectations, they should take advantage to promote excellence.

“I want to charge you not to rest on your oars in the discharge of your constitutional duties, I equally urge you to continue to add value to whatever duty assigned you. This elevation comes with responsibility; it will spur you to do more. It comes with a call for you to do more in all areas of your responsibility.

“Our duties have been diversified, we are much more involved in border control management, people come to us for passports which is a tool that will enable people to travel out of the country. We are at the airport, seaport, and land.

“You are promoted to do well, see this promotion as a call to service. You can make a difference, you can make a change, and excel. Be good ambassadors, just because you do not have ambassadors in front of your names does not make you any less ambassadors country.

“Promotion is not free for all, it is an exhibition of hardwork, I admonish you to be hardworking and dedicated to your responsibilities”.
