Robbers shoot man dead in Port Harcourt after withdrawing money from bank

A yet-to-be-identified man has been killed by armed robbers in the Trans Amadi area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital after withdrawing money from a commercial bank.

The man who was shot dead by the robbers on Wednesday afternoon also had the money he withdrew from the bank taken from him.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to theportcitynews.com said the deceased allegedly withdrew some money from the bank and was traced to Elf junction, around Schlumberger off Mothercat Road, close to Alcon company by the robbers.

According to them, the deceased struggled with the robbers before he was shot in the head and the money taken from him.

They lamented that despite the presence of a police post at that same junction while many of the companies around had police officers attached to them, none was able to stop or chase the robbers.

The acting spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko did not immediately respond to enquiries for comment as at the time of filing this report.
