The 1999 Constitution gives the Marital Issues to the Local Governments ….see the Residual List of that foolish document then the Federal Government levies 30k Naira on every marriage and 21k on every marriage certificate!
What right has the federal government to legislate on marriages when the residual powers over marriages are with the Local Governments?
Here is the clincher: a few months back, the President commenced paying the federal allocations directly to the Local Governments thereby removing the state governments from the equation! And people rejoiced. Some of us saw the big picture and screamed ‘blue murder’! We warned that the unitary system just got tighter. As usual, we were told to shove it.
Then the federal government announced that INEC…that infamous organization that takes away the right of the people to select their own oppressors, would begin conducting Local Government elections! And before we could come up for air, they announced legislating on marriages…Christian Marriages at that! While we are still busy with Sowore, Kalu and other stories, they’re about implementing it!

But you said that the involvement of the federal government in your local affairs even against the wordings of that abomination called constitution was good? Yea, you’re about to have some real taste of that! By the time they’re done with us, churches would be paying taxes and probably, Christians would be asked to produce their IDs before they could worship!
The man that pays the Piper dictates the tunes, remember? You want some semblance of sanity, be in charge of your own development! Quit ceding your rights, privileges and sovereignty to one thieving and irresponsible entity in Abuja!
Dear Friends, the 1999 Constitution is dedicated to the service of slavery! That Constitution MUST be destroyed! The destruction of that Constitution is all that matters; not elections, not appointments, not federal projects! And definitely not the ridiculous contraptions called the APC and the PDP or some other silly entities!
We must #restructureOrBurst! We must have our #autononousRegions else the dissolution of Nigeria shall be spontaneous and spectacular!
