An industrialist in Rivers state has said the 2019 Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce International Trade Fair holding in Port Harcourt will bring investors, thereby, creating more employment opportunities for people of the state.

Chief Strategist for the 2019 Port Harcourt Trade Fair, Dr Maraizu Uche, who disclosed this to our reporter Tina Amanda, said the aim of PHACCIMA hosting the event is to contribute to the economic growth of the state, by bringing in investors from different parts of the country and the world at large into Rivers state.

He noted that PHACCIMA as an organization will help the investors as much as possible in giving them the tools required to sustain whatever they decide to invest in the state.

“We believe in the fact that our environment is safe, so we are investing in it and we hope to build upon that by helping these companies and organizations to stay in Rivers State, employ more people. We will help them go through the process required for any company to stay and become economically viable in the state if there are regulatory, community, land or multiple taxation issues they need to go through, we will assist them”

Dr Uche stressed that PHACCIMA will also act as an intermediary between new and old Small and Medium Enterprise (SMEs) and government in order to ensure that the investors sustain that which they want to gain during the trade Fair and after it.

He however said, the Trade Fair will increase the Local Gross Domestic Product GDP of the state, through the economic activities such as buying and selling, networking, advertising of both international and local products and services during the fair which will, in turn, generate lots of revenue.

According to him, the Trade Fair is channelled on improving the state economic climate during and after the fair event.

He stressed further that the fair long-term benefit is to make people invest more in the state, as the fair will showcase Rivers State economic viability and how safe it is to do business.
