The Government of Imo State has said it is unfortunate that the disunity in APC in Rivers State led to the emergence of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who struts the stage like a drunken emperor.
It described Wike as a colossal failure and a megalomaniac whose posturing has left Rivers State poorer in the last seven years.
This is in reaction to a statement credited to Wike during a rally organized by the Imo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which said Governor Hope Uzodinma would be voted out of power following his failure in Imo State.
The state commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba refuted the claim, noting that Imo people would be the ones to vote for Uzodinma and not him (Wike).
Emelumba stated that Wike is a complete failure in governance and leadership and therefore unfit to assess his Imo counterpart, Hope Uzodinma.
“The man in question is a colossal failure and a megalomaniac whose posturing has left Rivers State poorer in the last seven years. He is a complete failure in governance and leadership and therefore is unfit to assess Uzodinma,” he said.
He stated that Wike in the last seven years has squandered the goodwill of the people while chasing shadows and meddling in the affairs of other states.
The commissioner noted that Wike has divided Rivers state through his divisive and inconsistent policies, adding that he turned the youths of the state to labourers of Julius Berger, due to unemployment.
According to Emelumba, Uzodinma has been able to spread infrastructure in all the 27 local government areas of the state, unlike Wike, whose discriminatory comments have destroyed Rivers State.
“Which PDP will take over Imo State? The fractured one that has been colonised by Wike which is now his appendage or which one? Hope Uzodinma’s sterling performance will win him re-election and not the fantasies of a confused man who is a celebrated failure,” he added.
