The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi has weighed in on the electoral crisis in Rivers state, urging those instigating crisis in the state to emulate the former deputy governorship candidate of the African Action Congress, Akpo Bomba Yeeh.
Yeeh who resigned from AAC and defected to the PDP on Monday accused the minister of transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of hijacking the structure of the party.
He equally accused the All Progressives Congress in the state of undue interference in the party’s activities, saying that they never campaigned to win the election.
He also said that his former party lost the guber election of March 9, urging his former partner, Festus Awara to accept defeat.
However, Obi in a tweet urged the rest in the AAC to tow Yeeh’s line in order to avert the looming crisis in the state.
I enjoin all those instigating crises in the Rivers State elections to take a cue from Chief Akpo Bomba Yeeh, Dep. Governorship candidate of AAC, and put brakes on the plots to subvert democracy and economic devt in Rivers nay Nigeria. -PO
