The Governorship Candidate of the National Rescue Movement for the 2023 election in Rivers State, Sobomabo Jackrich has sympathized with the family members of the fallen environmentalist, Ken Saro Wiwa.

While laying a wreath on the grave of Ken in memorial of the martyr, Jackrich described Ken as one of the heros of Africa.

He assured the family that the killing of Ken would never be in vain because he was fighting for a just cause.

Jackrich also saluted the courage of the Ogoni people for stopping the oil exploration in Ogoniland shortly after the killing of Ken by late General Sani Abacha.

On his part, the National President of the National Youth Council of Ogoni People, Matthew Diighi vowed that Ogoni youths will continue the struggle of Ken, no matter the odds.

Diighi said the hanging of Ken and eight others was painful and cruel and urged Ogoni youths not to relent until the message of Ken is delivered.

He said, “that message of environmental justice that Ken was advocating for before he was killed by the wicked late San Abacha must be practically delivered by the Ogoni youths of today.”
