A seventy year old man, Sylvester Azubike from Ozuzu in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers state, has petitioned the Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka, over the malicious damage of his house at Ozuzu, allegedly done by Nnana Iroanya Opurum, member representing Etche constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

After writing his statement at Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) unit of the Police headquarters where the case was minutes to by the Rivers State Police command, Azubuike told journalist that in 2018 Nnana Opurum brought in Bulldozer to grade the area in a bid to construct Ozuzu market, and in the process the bulldozer destroyed part of his building.

He said he made effort to reach out to Opurum through the site supervisor and the lawmaker offered him the sum of twenty thousand (20,000) naira to go fix the building which he rejected.

According to him, the quantity surveyor who visited his building to inspect it said the vibration from the caterpillar has affected the house foundation and weakened it, as the only solution is to put pillars round the building.

He explained that he sent the Youth president of Ozuzu clan and one other person at different times to Opurum who allegedly promised to remedy the situation but the lawmaker till date has failed to fulfill the initial agreement.

Effort made to reach the Lawmaker proved abortive as several calls to his phone line was not responded to.
