The public has been called on to access a world-class health care treatment at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, as it now operates with world-class facilities.
The Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Dr Friday Aaron, who disclosed this, said the hospital is undergoing massive infrastructural works as most departments have been equipped with the latest medical equipment, most notably the radiology department.
According to him, the hospital is changing its method of payment and record processes to automated, where patients can access services through E-payment and E-record system, stressing that the quality of health care has greatly improved.
“The State Government is massively equipping the teaching hospital and Governor Nyesom Wike so much investment is exemplary and monumental that is why we are urging Rivers people to utilise what the government is doing for us. The quality of service has also improved; people now come from other states to access our health care services.
“We are changing in terms of software, and the government have a particular interest in the hospital. Welfare and accommodation of doctors have been taking care of, those on training equally funded.
“We are piloting E-payment, which will allow a needy patient to call someone anywhere in the world to get his or her hospital bill paid. Our services in terms of cost are the cheapest, unlike other public and private hospitals.”
Dr Aaron said that the hospital is working towards having world-class health personnel, that will be trained to give the best services to patients, adding that business is no longer as usual in RSUTH.
He, however, expressed hope that Governor Nyesom Wike will extend his goodwill to employ more health workers to March with the hospital status, based on the large volume of patients received.
