A supremacy battle between two suspected cult groups, Iceland and Greenland, at Udebu Community, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, was foiled by the Ahoada Police Division on Sunday.

According to a source from the community in an interview with our Correspondent, members of the cult groups had mobilized themselves to engage in a battle in the community at about 5 pm when they were intercepted by the Police, who acted on a tip-off.

Our source also disclosed that the Police fatally wounded one Bright and two other suspected cultists in exchange for gunfire with the hoodlums.

Another native of the community told our Correspondent that one of the cult group’s leader named Ikechukwu Uturu aka “Old School” from Ahoada East LGA, and other cultists escaped with bullet wounds.

It was gathered that one locally fabricated G-3 Riffle, a locally made pistol which uses AK 47 ammunition, charms and other dangerous weapons, was recovered from the hoodlums by the Police.

When contacted, the Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed that the Police killed three suspected cultists in Udebu in exchange for gunfire but did not give further details.

She, however promised to release a comprehensive report on the incident later.
