The decomposed body of the kidnapped Traditional Ruler from Luuwa Community in Khana Local Government Area, Chief Robert Loolo, has been exhumed by the Rivers State Police Command.
Late Chief Loolo, who was kidnapped in June 2019, at his palace in Luuwa community was never seen even after the deceased children paid huge sum of money as ransom to the kidnappers.
The Divisional Police officer in charge of Bori division, SP Bako Angbashim led the team to a forest linking Luuwa, Bera and Bani Communities where the remains of Chief Loolo was exhumed following a thorough investigation and random search in various forests within the area.
SP Angbashim expressed regret how a Paramount Ruler would be kidnapped and tied to a stick in a deep forest and left to die, where no one can offer help.
The DPO however advised kidnappers and all those involved in criminal activities to vacate Ogoniland or repent, as the Police will stop at nothing in ensuring the perpetrators of the heinous crime are arrested and prosecuted.
Meanwhile, one of the deceased children, Dr Douglas Fabeke, who spoke to our correspondent, expressed sadness in the way and manner their father was killed, even after paying ransom to the kidnappers.
Dr Fabeke recounted that Chief Loolo was kidnapped in 2019 by some Youth group in Luuwa community who were fighting for youth president, noting that despite several pleas and ransom paid twice to the culprits, they still went ahead to kill his father.
He lamented that the disappearance and the discovery of the remains of their father at the forest by the Police is heartbreaking to the entire family.
He further demanded justice for the gruesome murder of his late father.
