The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State says the decision of the camp of Governor Nyesom Wike to pull out of the Campaign Council of the party was because of the inequality in the leadership position in the party.

The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State, Sidney Gbara said this while speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt.

Sidney Gbara maintained that the leader of the party in the state Governor, Nyesom Wike is on the right course for pulling out of the PDP Campaign Council.

”Things are happening this way so that people will see the insincerity in the leadership of PDP and those in Abuja. Now the issue on the ground is not new to us. The Leader of our party, the Executive Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has clearly made his stance with his group for fairness and equity. What is so difficult is that they can’t keep to their words. And for us here in Rivers State, we stand with our leader, whatever he says, that what we’re saying, where ever he is going that’s where we’re going” he said.

The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State, Sidney Gbara, however, said that southerners cannot be neglected in the party.

He, commended Governor, Nyesom Wike for standing for the rights of southerners in the party.

”The southerners cannot continue to play second fiddle and I want to give kudos to our Governor, a son of the south, who has stood his ground to make the entire Nigerians know the truth. Previously, thought it was about Governor Wike, but I believe people are beginning to see that it’s not about Wike but it’s about the interest of the party and how the PDP can move on” he said.
