Human Right lawyer, Higher Kings has described the recently concludes public hearing for the review of the constitution as a huge joke by the government.

Higher Kings, while reacting to the mode of presentation and time frame given to stakeholders to preside at the hearing, said the time given was too short and no one can make any meaningful point.

“I want to say that this is a jamboree, this is a waste of time. Number one is that two days is not enough time for a whole region to be able to make their presentation and then secondly, two minutes is being given to every person to adumbrate on his petition.

“And some of these petitions are two hundred, five hundred, one thousand pages and you want somebody to adumbrate it in two minutes? I think it is a huge joke by whoever conceived this idea”

The human rights lawyer also said the two days allocated to each region is too short for the period. He said the exercise is going to be a complete waste of time.

“They make people waste money, make people waste time, make people waste resources. I mean, gather people, some people with several ailments. I mean why will you drag people up and down, how can you say you want to do a constitutional review for a region, for south south region for two days, let’s just not be joking with the people”
