Former governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, on Saturday, graduated as a lawyer from Baze University, Abuja, the federal capital territory.
He obtained a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree after his academic programme at the university.
The former transport minister was among the 504 students who graduated from the institution in various fields of study.
According to the authorities of Baze University, the graduands not only passed their examinations successfully but were also found worthy in learning and character by the school, hence their graduation.
The university management said they were proud of the graduands and advised them to be good ambassadors of the institution wherever they find themselves.
They were awarded their various certificates at the 9th Convocation Ceremony of the school.
Amaechi, a former speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, studied English at the University of Port Harcourt, Choba, Rivers State and graduated in the late 80s.
TPCN gathered that Ubima, an Ikwerre-born politician, had always desired to be a lawyer but was unable to realise the ambition before this time because of his commitments and tight schedules since joining full-time politics around 1991.
With his LLB degree, Amaechi has now increased the number of Rivers Governors that are lawyers to three, after his cousin, Sir Barr Celestine Omehia, who ruled the state from May 29, 2007, to October 25, 2007, and Chief Barr Nyesom Wike, the incumbent governor since May 29, 2015.
