A minor who was one of last Saturday’s kidnapped victims along Emohua/Kalabari road has narrated how her kidnappers gang raped her multiple times during her captivity.

She said, “we were returning from Choba to Kalabari and around 5pm last Saturday, some kidnappers emerged from the bush and blocked our commercial bus.

“I was sitting in front of the vehicle when the kidnappers ordered me and four others to come down from the vehicle and follow them.

“They took us into the bush and ferry us through a waiting hand pulling boat into the creek.

“As soon as we got to the kidnappers’ den, they gag raped me while they avoided raping the second female among us because she was pregnant.

“The next day, they released the pregnant woman and other males whose family members had paid ransom but refused to release me because my family members have not brought ransom.

“The four days I spent in the kidnappers’ den, I was gang raped before some security men burst into the den and rescued us.”

When contacted, the commander of a community based security outfit that led the rescue operation, Silvanus George (aka) General Boro said the kidnappers abandoned their victims and fled after engaging them in a shootout.

“We went straight into the kidnappers’ den and exchanged gunfire with them, but they ran when they could not withstand our fire power.

“Later we saw the victims; two males and one female coming out of the kidnappers’ den and we rescued them,” he said.
