A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed 15 February, 2022 to deliver judgment on a suit instituted by OGECHI OGWU-EDWIN and three others against the All Progressives Congress and its Caretaker Committee Chairman, ISAAC OGBOBULA.

The Court which presided over by Justice I.R MINAKIRI also fixed 23 February, 2022 for judgment in a suit filed by ALAIBO SOIBIBO and three others against the All Progressives Congress and ISAAC OGBOBULA.

The plaintiffs in the different suits are seeking an interlocutory injunction against the APC and its Caretaker Committee Chairman in the state over the conduct of congresses in Rivers State and thereby want the court to nullify and order for fresh congresses.

The claimants are praying the court to stop APC from going ahead with its Congress, while alleging that they were not giving form to participate at the last congress, even after payment as all the process was marred by irregularities.

Our Correspondent reports that when the matter was mentioned in court, Justice I.R MINAKIRI could not go on with the judgment due to her health condition and thereby adjourned to 15 and 23rd January, respectively for judgment.

The position of the Court allows for inauguration of Chairman elect, Chief EMEKA BEKE on Thursday 4 January, in Abuja as scheduled by the Extraordinary Caretaker Committee of APC following the fact that there has not been any subsisting order against the exercise.
