Newly appointed Head Coach of one of Port Harcourt’s finest side, SKE Football Club, Tunde Sanni, has stated that he is ready to ensure that SKE FC moves from being an amateur team to a professional team.
He stated this while speaking with SKE Media, shortly after his side’s three nil bashing of Urim FC in a friendly encounter.
“I am highly elated to be confirmed as the Head Coach of this team and what I met on ground clearly showcases that we have talents in this team, which I believe with time they will improve and play better.”
The Kwara born tactician emphasized that his mission to the Port Harcourt outfit is to take them to the Nigeria National League.
” It’s not the money that matters, the task is to develop the players, gain promotion, give them a better way and style of play, which I believe I can get the team working again.”
He further stressed that he will bring his wealth of experience as a CAF Coaching License B tactician to help develop the players to a professional set-up.
“The difference is that when you’re at the top level, they can easily adapt and listen to instructions, but to me, some of them are just coming up. They are under-developed and I will not relent in my effort to help develop them through series of training.
“The difference between development and improvement is that those at the top level you will improve them, but those at the grassroots, you’ll develop them. I will bring myself to the level of the players so that I can develop them to a professional side.”
SKE FC will compete for promotion in the NLO Division One, the Aiteo Federation Cup, as well as other invitational tournaments.
