Francis Epe of Ikoyi Golf Club in Lagos has emerged the overall winner of the inaugural invitational golf tournament organized to mark the commissioning of the Bayelsa State International Golf Course.
Francis Epe out swung other participants to come tops in the professional’s category to cart home the sum of five hundred thousand naira.
He said the victory will spur him to win more championship this year.

”I am very happy to win the tournament because this is a new golf course. I had already told myself that I should just enjoy my swing and my game, I should not look for too much birdie but should just relax and play the course. So by God’s grace I swing my balls properly and came out as winner today” he said.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson says the State Government would continue to initiate blueprints that will boost tourism potentials of the state through the game of golf.
Seriake Dickson while commissioning the newly built Bayelsa State International Golf Course said the new golf course state would make the state the hub of sports and centre of tourism in Nigeria.
Dickson also advised the incoming administration to harness the tourism potentials of the golf course and continue to develop the swing sport.
