Rivers Guber: We’ll get it right in 2023 – Farah Dagogo

Less than 24 hours after the Youth Mandate group purchased the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Governorship Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for Doctor Farah Dagogo, another group, the PDP Mobilizers group has expressed its readiness to work for the success of the vision.

At a solidarity visit, Coordinator of the PDP Mobilizers, Justin Briggs said the Rivers PDP Governorship aspirant, who also doubles as the Member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has proven his mettle at both the State and Federal level of lawmaking, assuring him that ‘marketing you to the people is a done deal.

“We are here to show our support and willingness to mobilize other members of our great party, the PDP and other Rivers people for the success of your victory. Your victory will be our victory. You have assisted a majority of us in our lives and we can’t forget that. Our most respected Federal Lawmaker, marketing you to the people is a done deal. Your works speak for you.

“Today, the Rivers State University is getting all the right ratings and approvals but the success story of that institution cannot be completed without the legislative prowess you exhibited as the (Rivers) State House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Education. It is on record that you reworked the repealed bill of Rivers State University of Science and Technology to become Rivers State University. That legislative dexterity is the brain behind the functioning of our today Rivers State University.

“You took your legislative proficiency a notch higher to the House of Representatives. Today, the Federal Medical Centre, Bonny that will cater for the health needs of not just Bonny people, but the entire Rivers State has been passed into law. There is also the novel Federal STEAM Polytechnic, Tombia, which is at the final legislative stage at the House. Then, the all-encompassing Youth Entrepreneurship Development Trust Fund bill, which is also at the later stage of being passed into law, where five per cent of the country’s annual Capital Appropriation is to be set aside for youths with entrepreneurial skills.

“Those are not part of your various empowerments and financial assistance, as well as projects, that you have used your position and office to attract to our people. I can go on and on but now is not the time. Just be assured of our support as we are determined to go all the way for you and with you,” he explained.

Farah Dagogo thanked the group for the visit. He said his decision to throw his hat in the ring was to chart a new course of governance, where the people can be active participants.

“When eventually the people give us their mandate, we will govern and not rule. Your views will not be suppressed. The mission will be to make Rivers State and its people better, that will be the priority. Thank you for your massive show of support. The tasks ahead are enormous but with people of like minds pushing us on and giving us support, we will get it right, ” Farah Dagogo added.
