………As Abe’s loyalist defects to Amaechi’s camp
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says it would ensure a level-playing ground for its members vying for various positions in the upcoming congresses in Rivers State.
Mr Victor Giadom, the party’s Acting National Secretary, during his first meeting with the acting chairman of the party in Rivers State, Prince Peter Odike, said that carrying the party members along would be required to take over power from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.
Expressing gratitude in the role being played by Peter Odike in reconciling aggrieved members of the party in Rivers state, Giadom said it would not be in the best interest of Rivers State to remain in the hands of the PDP.
He also urged other warring members of the parties in the state to sheathe their swords and put aside their differences for the overall interest of the party.
Odike on his part also applauded the party for its decision to settle the crisis which had left the Rivers State chapter redundant and pledged to work with the Isaac Abot Ogbogbula-led 5-member caretaker committee, to achieve the objective.
He called on the party to be fair and democratic in the discharge of its duties and urged other party members to embrace the opportunity to move the party forward.
“In the coming days, I will once more be meeting with Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as well as other leaders and stakeholders of our party to ensure that we do not miss this golden opportunity to be a great force that we are. Like Apostle Paul said, “shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. It is time we think Rivers State and Rivers APC, and compound our forces.”
