Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike says the G5 governors will rescue Nigeria.
He spoke at the official flag-off of the Rivers PDP campaign for the 2023 general elections and unveiling of Siminalayi Fubara as the party’s governorship candidate alongside his running mate, Prof. Ngozi Odu.
The programme was held at the popular Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Omagwa, Ikwerre local government area of the state on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
Thanking the G5 governors for honouring his invitation to attend the event, Governor Wike commended them for standing with him to demand for justice and equity in the PDP.
He told other PDP stakeholders to tell their supporters to listen to the G5 governors if they have integrity.
“If you have integrity, tell your supporters to listen to those who are to rescue Nigeria. If you destroy PDP, we will fail you. These are the integrity governors … those who are to rescue Nigeria.”
Present at the event were the G5 governors, who took turns to praise their leader and host, Governor Nyesom Wike, for his charisma, insistence on what is right and general performance in governance.
The G5 governors also drummed support for the governorship candidate of the Rivers PDP, Siminalayi Fubara, with some declaring him as the next governor of Rivers State.
Chairman of the G5 governors, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, who described the leader of the group, Governor Nyesom Wike, as a man of integrity, said they were at the event to flag off the Rivers PDP 2023 election campaign officially. He said with the scenario on ground, he could only congratulate the Rivers PDP governorship candidate ahead of the forthcoming election.
“We are here to flag off the Rivers State PDP campaign. With what I have seen here, I want to congratulate the incoming governor of Rivers State 2023. We believe in Sim,” Ortom said.
Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, urged the people of Rivers State to key into the Sim Fubara governorship project. He said: “You know that if you don’t have a Sim card, you cannot receive network. I want to urge every Rivers man to key into the Sim Project because it is very good for everybody to say, ‘I’ll do like Nyesom Wike.
“Nigeria, Africa and indeed the world have recognized the hard work of Nyesom Wike. Anybody who prefers to do otherwise, fa-fa-fa—foul.
“We must know the Nyesom Wike trajectory. And that trajectory is the trajectory of roads, development and progress for the people of Rivers State.”
