Voters in Tombia and Bakana in Degema local government area of Rivers state have described the February 23rd presidential and national assembly elections as the most peaceful polls conducted.
According to them, the election is free of violence and every other electoral crisis that usually occurred in the area.
Some electorates who spoke to our correspondent Tina Stephen while exercising their franchise at some polling units said the election is credible despite late arrival of electoral materials.
Also speaking, Federal House of Representative candidate for Bonny/Degema Federal Constituency, Dr Farah Dagogo, while voting in his ward 8, unit 4, expressed happiness that the people of Tombia and Degema voted their choice of leaders in a peaceful atmosphere.
On his part, Chairman Degema Local government area, Dr Tony Philemon, while exercising his franchise in ward 5, unit 1, in Bakana, also described the election as peaceful and credible, adding that the turn out of voters in the area was very impressive.
Our correspondent reports that some police and civil defence officers seen at the various polling units in the areas were without guns.
