The Akwa Ibom State Government has ordered the conduct of fresh promotion interview for qualified personnel from grade level 7 and above in the state civil service to attain greater inclusivity.
This decision was reached at the Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday in the EXCO chambers of the government house, Uyo.
The decision was reached after a review of the report of the last promotion interview, wherein it was observed that a large number of qualified persons were unable to attend and be assessed.
The decision for a fresh process is to allow every qualified personnel to be examined on the same parameters, Ini Ememobong, the state’s commissioner for information said in a statement.
“Consequently, the Council has directed the Head of the Civil Service to immediately commence all the processes required to undertake fresh promotion interview for all qualified civil servants.
“However, all the processes must be concluded and reported to the council, before the 1st of October, 2020”.
