It was a tragic Wednesday in the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, Community as three students were found dead and one was hospitalised following drug overdose.
According to an eyewitness report given by one Mr. Opara, a member of the Vigilante Group, three boys died at Sunshine Castle Hostel, Umuchima, Ihiagwa Community, after taking a mixture of tramadol, codeine, vodka and India hemp.
Two of the boys reportedly died immediately after taking the concoction while the girl and one of boys were moved to Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where they were placed on life support.
Theportcitynews learnt that the third boy later died leaving only the girl unconscious.
According to the eyewitnesses: “They were all found naked, one was with a bathing soap in his hand, the other lying on-top of the lady among them, the room was filled with bottles of vodka drink, codeine, packets of tramadol, and India hemp.”
Adding that the deaths were suspected to have come from drinking the mixtures.
