Former Minister of Aviation and a Peoples Democrtictic Party chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode, has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s Democracy Day speech, describing it as disgusting and full of lies.
President Muhammadu had during a nationwide broadcast to mark the nation’s 19 democracy anniversary, claimed that the Boko Haram sect has been degraded.
He said the development led to the re-establishment of authority of government and the release of captives including the 106 Chibok and 104 Dapchi girls, and over 16,000 other persons held by the extremists.
According to the president, his government would not relent until the insurgents are completely wiped out from the shores of Nigeria.
His words, “Today, the capacity of the insurgents has been degraded leading to the re-establishment of authority of government and the release of captives including, happily, 106 Chibok and 104 Dapchi girls, and over 16,000 other persons held by the Boko Haram.”
Reacting, however, Fani-Kayode in a tweet, said the President’s speech was uninspiring and irritating.
He reacted via his Twitter handle thus, “I was disgusted with @MBuhari’s Democracy Day speech. It was filled with lies, deceit, propaganda, false narratives, questionable assertions, fake facts and figures and Goebbelian mendacity and falsehood. It was a tale told by an idiot: full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
