The Federal Road Safety Corps has warned Muslims not to embark on night travels.

The FRSC said night travels have more accident risk than day travels.

The annual Ramadan fast of all Muslims across the world started April 2nd this year in Nigeria.

The immediate past Public Relations officer of FRSC in Rivers State, John Michael told our correspondent that the Northerners who are predominately Muslims like night travels.

He said, “our study has shown that night travels are more dangerous than day travels and our Muslim brothers and sisters who like night journey should avoid it.

“If anything goes wrong during night journey, it will be difficult to get help especially if a vehicle develops fault at night.

“Hoodlums take more advantage of the night to prey on travellers than daytime.

“They should also not forget that most of our roads are bad and can better be seen by drivers in the day than night.”

The road safety agency further called on Muslims in the state to adhere to traffic rules and use the fasting season to abstain from attitude that can lead to road accident.
