Two people have been reportedly shot outside the Henry Dunant private hospital in the 16th arrondissement, Paris on Monday afternoon.
One of those shot has reportedly died, while the other is receiving treatment at the hospital.
Paris Police said the shooter fired several shots before fleeing on a motorcycle.
The dead victim has been identified as a man while the injured, a woman, worked as a security guard at the hospital.
Police say they are yet to ascertain the motive behind the shooting and have not made any links with terrorism.
Paris has been on the news in recent months over various attacks; In October 2020, a French history teacher was beheaded after showing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to his students during a free speech lesson.
Also in same October 2020, three people died in a knife attack at a church, in what French President Macron said was an “Islamist terrorist attack”.
The shooter wore a hood, fired several times, according to witnesses on BFM-TV.
