An Ethiopian Airlines plane with 157 people on board has crashed on its way to Nairobi in Kenya.
The Boeing 737, carrying 149 passengers and eight crew members, was on a regular scheduled flight when it came down, according to the Ethiopian prime minister’s office.
A spokesman for the airline confirmed the plane had crashed while heading from Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.
The state-owned Ethiopian Airlines calls itself Africa’s largest carrier.
