It was a long night for the Chimas as their father and breadwinner was brutally murdered by gunmen said to be cultists in Rumuekini.
The killing comes as the cult-related killings in the state have reached a new high despite claims by security agents,
especially the police that they are tackling the matter.
Mrs Bisi Chima whose husband was beheaded by unknown gunmen in Rumuekini, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has narrated how the gunmen killed her husband in the presence of their children.
While speaking to newsmen in their Rumuekini home, she said the assailants invaded their home around 9 pm on Wednesday night while her husband and his sister were discussing in their sitting room and shot her husband thrice leading to his death.
She said the assailants ordered her to bring a knife which they used in severing the head of her husband with and forced her to put the head inside a bucket.
Mrs Chima explained that all these happened in the presence of her children.
According to her, the assailants later took her husband’s severed head and dumped it on a table in front of a the community secondary school.
She said that her husband was a peaceful man who went about his daily business without troubling anyone, adding that all she deserves is justice for her husband.
Mr Chima, who operated a block industry before he was brutally murdered was a popular man in the community, a local source told our correspondent.
The reason for his murder has not been ascertained but police said they are investigating the matter.
