Sixteen travellers were on Tuesday saved from drowning after a boat mishap in Rivers State.
The boat conveying the travellers from ATC in Okrika Local Government Area to Marine Base in Port Harcourt developed engine malfunctioning immediately after takeoff.
Eyewitnesses told theportcitynews told theportcitynews that youths from Kalio Ama community dived into the water and rescued all passenger on board the ill-fated boat.
An eyewitness from the community simply identified as Boma said some of the passengers had started drowning before the intervention of the youths.
He added that the passengers were brought ashore where simply first aid was performed on them.
