Samuel Nwanosike, the Ikwerre Local Government Area Chairman, has said his administration would sustain Back-to-school and back-to-farm programmes to ensure the development of the area.
The LGA chair also said on Wednesday during the flag-off for the construction of a health centre in Igwuruta that he would strive to deliver on his election campaign promises on
He said that the purpose of the health centre in Igwuruta Town is to improve the health conditions of the people of the locality, adding that his administration has already started renovating and reconstructing the Community Secondary School in Omagwa; town hall for Omagwa Council of Chiefs and Elders; 10 classroom block building in Aluu.
Other projects he said his administration was carrying out are in several wards which he noted are according to needs, yearning and assessment of the towns or communities.
He also stressed that they would continue to pay more considerable attention to the rising state of insecurity, drug addiction and other vices amongst the youths of the area.
While thanking the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike for the opportunity to lead their people at the third tier government, he noted that they would continue to drive down the dividends of democracy to the people in all the 13 Wards of the LGA.
While stating that they were committed to making Ikwerre LGA the best and pride of Rivers State, Hon Nwanosike pleaded for support from the state government and other well-meaning organisations so that the dream would be actualised.
