The State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Barr. Young Ayotamuno speaking on community mobilization and engagement for participation and development in the Niger Delta has called on the government and corporate organizations to collaborate and involve community members before carrying out projects and social corporate responsibilities respectively.
He said this in a media engagement with the Love FM on Monday in a radio programme sponsored by SPDC, Total and NNPC.
He also stressed on the need for multinational corporations to look inward by training and recruiting host community members to give them sense of inclusion and belonging in exploring resources in the Niger Delta.
On the other hand, Barr. Ayotamuno condemned in its totality the extortion of pecuniary and the so called matching ground from project contractors by some youths, and reminded the people of the state of the law prohibiting illegal collection of levies (matching ground) from contractors passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly and approved by the Rivers State Government.
