MD, and Deputy MD of the company commended the Government of Rivers State led by Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, on the proactive steps he has taken in tackling the #COVID19 pandemic and ensuring that the people of the state are protected.
The company said it recognized that the State Government cannot go it alone in the fight against the pandemic, hence the need for private sector support, adding that it has committed N1billion to interventions in the state, including Bonny Island.
The interventions include the donations of two pick-up vehicles, five ventilators, thirty monitors and over 17, 000 pieces of assorted PPEs to the Rivers State Government.
As part of the interventions, the company said it is committed to refurbishing a building and setting up a 10 bed Isolation/Holding Centre at the Bonny Zonal Hospital.
The Centre, it said, will be equipped with necessary medical equipment and PPEs to make it fully functional in case there are cases in Bonny.
Also part of the intervention is the commitment to the donation of equipment and materials to upgrade specific facilities at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH).
The company said distribution of food items to its host communities as palliatives is ongoing to ease the hardship presently being experienced as a result of the stay at home order.
It said the donations signify its determination to stand with the Government and people of Rivers State at this time.
