Upon his assumption of office, the newly appointed Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for Rivers State, Usman Ali Wadar has warned drug peddlers to stop forthwith or relocate out of the state.
A statement sent to our correspondent and signed by the state command’s spokesman, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada said the new state commander promised to continue from where his predecessor stopped in the war against drug abuse.
Until his new appointment, Wadar was the Special Area Commander NDLEA Enugu International Airport. From there to Rivers State Command as the Assistant State Commander Admin And Logistics.
Later elevated to Deputy State Commander after his promotion to the rank of Commander of Narcotics, and now appointed as the state commander following the new appointment of the former State Commander, Rachael D. Shelleng as the Zonal Commnader of Zone A Bauchi to oversee Yobe, Bornu and Bauchi State Commands.
The newly state NDLEA boss also called for partnership from the general public to make the state drug free as the agency can not fight drug war alone.
