Former senator Magnus Abe has said that his wealth of experience in public service makes him qualified to govern Rivers state come 2023.
The senator who represented Rivers South East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, said with his vast experience as a public servant, having served the state at different levels and in two different governments, he was prepared for governance.
Abe, who spoke at Oroazi community in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state, where he was conferred with a chieftaincy title, assured the people of his commitment to making the state prosperous if elected as governor.
He said: “I have prepared myself for what I am asking us to do. I have a track record in public service. I have served here in Rivers State.
“I served in two different governments and I worked for two different governors, both of them are alive and they know I never took one naira that I was not given.
“Every penny that I took while in government, I was given by the person who is the governor. I never inflated any contract and I would not allow anybody to do that because those are the things that keep our communities poor.
“I am not doing that because I do not like money, I am doing that because I realise that when we run the government well and the people are wealthy, the state itself becomes prosperous.”
