A petroleum filing station in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State will be defending itself before a federal high court presided over by Justice Hilary Oshomah over fake operating license.
The Attorney General of the Federation through the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps had dragged the embattled filing station to court when discovered that Ackson Resources has no valid operating license.
The discovery was said to have been spotted during a controversial off loading of petroleum products at the filing station that attracted the attention of NSCDC operatives.
According to the lawyer to Ackson Resources, Barr Reuben Wanogho
“we filed a no case submission when the prosecution dragged my client to court over fake operating license.
“The two count charge slammed against my client were however amended but was mistakenly struck out by the previous judge.
“When Justice Oshomah took over, we were supposed to take a fresh plea de novo which we have come for.”
The case was however stalled following the inability of both the defence and prosecution lawyers to bring to the notice of the court that the amended charge upon which the trial were to commence has been mistakenly struck out by the previous judge.
Following the development, the court therefore ordered the prosecution to file fresh charge before it.
