The murder trial of Ifeanyi Dike continued today with a cross-examination of the 2nd prosecuting witness in the murder case of eight-year-old Chikamso Victory Measure.
The 2nd prosecuting witness Godwin Anusionwu and the elder brother to the father of the deceased told the court that Ifeanyi Dike’s escape from the police was assisted by ex-sergeant Johnbosco Okoroeze, the 3rd defendant.
He further told the court that he was at the police station when Ifeanyi testified that he was sent by Ugochukwu Nwamiro the 2nd defendant to commit the crime.
2nd and 3rd defense counsel accused Anusionwu of conspiring with the 1st prosecuting witness, Ernest Mezube to implicate the 2nd defendant Ugochukwu Nwamiro in the murder case, and also accused him of falsehood.
The witness, Godwin Anusionwu maintained that there was no conspiracy, but findings from an investigation made by police, stressing that all statement he made in court is the truth.
